A court in Missouri ordered Johnson & Johnson to pay more than $4 billion in damages to 22 women who filed a lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson. According to The New York Times, the Missouri appellate court upheld $2.1 billion in damages, finding Johnson & Johnson knew asbestos was in its baby powder. There are approximately 11,700 talcum powder lawsuits.
After more than 100 years, Johnson & Johnson stopped selling its talcum powder baby powder.
